Call for Proposals: ADEA Evaluation and Mid-Term Review of Strategic Medium Term Plan (SMTP)

The Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) is a forum for policy dialogue and for promoting innovative policies and practices in education. Since its inception in 1988, it has grown from a donor-driven platform for coordinating development aid to a vibrant network of African education and training ministries, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, researchers, educational experts, and technical partners from Africa and around the world. ADEA’s vision is to create a “high-quality African education and training geared towards the promotion of critical skills for accelerated and sustainable development in Africa”.

Over the years, ADEA’s work has expanded to focus more on the development of skills and competencies across all the education sub-sectors. The work addresses key thematic areas related to the improvement of both quality and relevance of education and training systems such as: technical and vocational skills development (TVSD), higher education (HE), early childhood development (ECD), non-formal education (NFE), teacher professional development (TPD), integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs), science and technology innovation (STI/STEM), books and learning materials (BLM), education management and policy support (EMPS), peace education (PE), literacy and national languages, education for sustainable development (ESD), and communication for education and development.

ADEA current SMTP (2013-2017) focuses on 5 strategic objectives supporting the above key thematic areas.

ADEA seeks proposals from highly qualified consulting firms to undertake an in-depth evaluation of the organization’s performance and impact in the continent’s education and training arena.
